The Sower

Description

The Sower is an album by the American folk-rock group Grace, self-released in 1979.

Sower reminds me of the glory days of the male/female Jesus music folk-rock group. I’m thinking of albums like Dove’s debut, Phoenix Sonshine’s Shinin’ In The Light and Suncast’s In Touch Again. The custom-made Sower is on equal footing with all those classics. That endearing blend of 12-string guitar, electric guitar leads/backing, rhythm section and moving guy/girl harmonies shines brightly on songs like «That I Might Serve Thee», «Faith», «Gethsemane», «Quick To Believe A Lie» and «Rich Man, Poor Man, Saved Man». Light Spanish flavor on «Herman Smith Valdez», a testimony about a Mexican believer. Sharp pencil cover illustration of lady scattering seed in a field. 500 made.
