Description
The self-titled debut album by the American hard rock/metal band Holy Soldier was released on Myrrh Records in 1990, a division of Word. Also manufactured and distributed by A&M Records. The album was recorded at Wayne Cook Studios in Glendale, at the Mixing Lab B in Huntington Beach, and at Neverland Studios and Pakaderm Studios in Los Alamitos, California; with David Zaffiro of Bloodgood fame producing. Mixed by Joe Chiccarelli.
Holy Soldier features Steven Patrick on lead vocals, Jamie Cramer and Michael Cutting on guitars, and a rhythm section consisting of Andy Robbins on bass and Terry Russel on drums.
The album charted No. 7 on Billboard Magazine‘s CCM sales charts. Released in 1990, Holy Soldier at that time, was the highest selling debut release on Word Records in 7 years. The band garnered two Dove Awards in 1991, in the Hard Rock Song and Album of the Year categories.
