Praise the Lord in Many Voices, Part III

Description

Praise the Lord in Many Voices, sub-titled A Recorded Performance in Carnegie Hall, Part III, is a multi-artist album released on Avant Garde Records in 1966. It’s a three part series also featuring Part I and Part II.

Here comes Robert Edwin and his big booming voice reverberating through Carnegie Hall as he sings assorted folk tunes accompanied by guitar and bass. Six songs, including «Keep The Rumor Going», «Are You Running With Me Jesus?», John Ylvisaker’s «The Noise Of Your Solemn Assemblies» and the Medical Mission Sisters’ «Speak To Me, Wind». Ok, but his solo LPs are better. The other side of the record is Bruno Markaitis’ ‘Community Mass’ performed by a traditional choir. Edwin was a student at Montclair State College in New Jersey at the time of this recording. [Ken Scott, The Archivist, 4th edition]
