Description
Keep the Fire Burning is a compilation album by the American folk-pop group Seth, released on StarSong Records in 1980. Contains previously released material (re-mixed for this compilation) from the band’s self-titled debut album and their sophomore album entitled Psalms, both released on Shalom in the mid-70s.
Seth featured the well-known CCM producer Jonathan David Brown, session drummer Keith Edwards, singer-songwriter Kelly Willard, as well as Rhenda Edwards Tull, Debbie Newell Scott, and David Wayne Hines.
Several years before he became one of Christian music’s top producers, Jonathan David Brown led a group called Seth. The group released two albums on Shalom Records in 1974 and ’75. Star Song has now released an album combining the best tunes from both albums plus the title track, which is new. Well done even for back then, these recordings now sparkle after being re-mixed on state-of-the-art equipment. Although not pictured on the front cover (she was sick), Kelly Willard was a member of the group. For those who were involved in contemporary Christian music back then, and even for those who weren’t, this album will surely “keep the fire burning.” (Best cuts: «Keep the Fire Burnin’», «Keep Holding On», «Soldiers of the Cross», «A Man Called Jesus».) [CCM (Records – What’s New), November 1980]
