This One’s for You is the sophomore gospel album by the American pop/rock band David & the Giants, independently released on the band’s own label Song of Songs Records in March 1978. The album was recorded by David Yelverton at Studio In The Country in Washington Parish, Louisiana; with the band producing. All songs written by the Huff brothers; David, Rayborn and Clayborn (except track A1 co-written with Gerald Hagen).

Another fine independent release of hook-laden pop-rock. It never hurts to put a little pop sitar in your grooves 4 «Missing In Action», «Open Up Your Heart» and the title track all get the treatment, the latter a melodic ballad touched with Philly soul sentiments ala Stylistics/Delfonics. You can’t help but love «Going Up To Meet My Maker» where America styled pop is married up with Pet Sounds-era Beach Boys harmonies. «Golgotha» is a short but intriguing instrumental featuring mandolin, cello and what sounds like a wordless operatic female voice. The closing «He’s Coming Back» turns up the juice with a heavy bass line, jazzy piano, soulful female bgvs and potent electric guitar leads, brewing up a sleek funky jazz-rock groove not unlike Steely Dan’s «Josie».
